Three for the price of one.
This national park is known for comprehensive three very different ecosystems: the forest and subalpine meadow of wildflowers, temperate forest and rugged Pacific coast. But instead of walking through the forest during the typical dry season, visit the Olympic National Park Winter Getaways three spectacular one.
Take advantage of the robust Pacific coast. In winter, a thrilling ride around with huge waves. Surprised, trees such as Douglas fir, hemlock and cedar is thrown into the ocean you do not see because usually washed during storms into rivers. Be too intense? Do not be afraid; you can still see the action from the cliffs near Kalaloch Lodge - a comfortable stay during the winter.
Owned forests reach the end of life in the seasons after the winter rains cause mosses, lichens and trees with green pop. At temperatures typically in the 30 to 40 lower elevations of the park, visitors can feel the winter nip in the air, but still feel good about walking.
If the rugged coastline and magnificent forests are not enough, Olympic has other means to offer: Hurricane Ridge - named for its strong winter winds. This mountainous region is ideal for skiing, snowboarding, sledding, tubing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing place.
Why you should go: More options mean less stress.
