Best National Parks in Winter

Three for the price of one.

The forest and subalpine wildflower meadow, temperate forest and the rugged Pacific Coast: This national park is known for covering three very different ecosystems. But instead of walking through the woods during the typical dry season, visit the Olympic National Park in the winter during three spectacular getaways.

Take this rugged Pacific coast. In winter it offers a thrilling ride with huge waves around him.

Surprised, trees such as Douglas fir is, hemlock and cedar trees thrown into the ocean, because they washed in the rule of rivers during the rainy you do not see. Its too intense? Do Not Worry; you can still see the action from the cliffs near Kalaloch Lodge - a cozy winter stay.

Owned forests reach the end of life in the seasons after the winter rains cause mosses, lichens and trees to blow the green. At temperatures usually in 30 to 40 at lower elevations of the park, visitors can feel the gap in the winter air, but nevertheless it feels comfortable to hiking.

When the rugged coastline and magnificent forests are not enough, however, another Olympic atmosphere to offer: Hurricane Ridge - named for its strong winter winds. This mountain region is an ideal place for skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, snow tubing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Why you should go: More options mean less stress.
