In this land of geological wonders, stones, arrows and tables at the heart of the Colorado Plateau characterized by rivers cut through canyons of the Green and Colorado. Petroglyphs are abandoned by the Indians hundreds of years also available. Green and Colorado rivers divide the park into four districts: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze and the rivers themselves. Although the neighborhoods have a primitive desert atmosphere, each retains its own character and offers a variety of opportunities for exploration and study of the natural and cultural history.
